Our Story

Milk & Moon was founded by two women and long time friends with a desire to provide people in recovery with healing and nurturing food.

Alina Hardin is a certified postpartum nutritionist who has been a long time chef in the Los Angeles area. Over the past 10 years she has started her own catering business, ran an outdoor farm to table dinner series and cooked for various noteworthy clients. After having her daughter in 2021 she experienced first hand the importance of having nutrient, easy to digest foods on hand as she was recovering from birth. She decided to shift her cooking focus to providing this for others going through a similar thing. She truly believes in food as medicine and is certified by Postpartum University.

Lindsey Nielsen is a certified prenatal and postpartum nutritionist with a passion for nourishing care. Certified by the Oh Baby School of Nutrition, she creates meals that honor both tradition and science, supporting the body’s healing journey after birth. As a cottage witch and budding herbalist, she draws from nature’s rhythms, using ingredients with intention and love. Rooted in Nevada County and inspired by her own experience as a new mom, she understands the importance of nourishment during life’s most tender transitions. Through her service, she aims to provide more than meals — Lindsey offers comfort, healing, and support for new beginnings.

We both saw first hand how vital it was to have prepared meals on hand in this tender time of life. Energy should be focused on healing and new baby/parent bonding. So we started Milk & Moon to represent the miracle of mama milk and the ever changing cycles of life.

Our meals and recipes focus on vital nutrients that new mamas and anyone in recovery need to heal and replenish their bodies while ensuring the experience is also a delicious one.
